H1N1 Flu: anticipating school closings

Because of anticipated school closings in the fall of 2009 due to the H1N1 (Swine--sorry hog farmers) Flu, Blog Town is investigating an online option for the high school. Read this: and let us know if this option will work for our town. Items to consider include how many families have computers in the home that have a high speed connection students can use to do their school work? This option might influence our decision on proceeding with muniwifi and what and whom we would charge for this service.

I think that the option should be considered, but not a determining solution. There will always be something to close schools, fires, bomb threats, shootings, flu outbursts, etc. Besides security helping the schools, online based schooling seems like a safe approach. Or maybe to incorporate it into current programs.
